the new year

despite being told over and over that the beginning of the year is somehow this immense, new time of possibility, i can’t help but remember that our western new year is an arbitrary designation of “new” and “start” and “beginning”.

we begin when we begin, and having this imposed designation, i often think, just harms us more than it helps.

but, as with most things, your mileage may vary.

that all being said, there is a certain energy that permeates the west at the new year that does propel us all forward–whether we ascribe to the imposed “new” or not.

which is a weird, random way of saying that these were my projects from last year, and these are my projects for this year.

hi, y’all, it’s been forever and ever and ever, but it has not all be for naught!  because i’ve been doing things like restructuring my patreon, formalizing my commissions, preparing for cons, and doing the writing thing (with potential ‘zines in the offing) bc i WILL have a completed a glittering venery novel-thing at some point, i swear.

so, yeah, i’m going to be heading out shortly so that i can set-up tonight.  i’ve got loads of things, but mostly, i have a bunch of new 1″ buttons because i’m a weirdo.

(i particularly fond of the “twee as fuck” and the “gender terrorist” ones.)

but, yeah, come and see me and maybe buy some things.

#AMKE is a week away, or i multi-classed in panicking

so, yeah, anime milwaukee is literally seven days away, and i am in an epic panic because, ya know, i’m a panicky little squid.

(some of this might be because matt mercer, marisha ray, laura bailey, and travis willingham from critical role are guesting at AMKE?  so, i might get to meet them?)

it’s time for another gallery nite (with a side of st. norbert’s art and craft show)

it is.  it’s totally that time for gallery nite, and as usual, i’m going to be at the ARTgarage from 5-9pm, and then–because my life is all sorts of exciting–i’m going to be at st. norbert’s art and craft show on saturday from 10am-5pm.

like, kitsune kon starts friday at 2pm.  i’m in booth N8. (i’m in sight-line of tasty peach studios! <3 )

and, i have new swag with which to tempt y’all:  11×14 posters *gestures emphatically at the featured image*, pillows, new buttons designs.  and, that’s in addition to all the things that i already carry.

saturday farmers market in green bay & other animals

so, yeah, i’m going to be at tomorrow’s farmers market in green bay from 7-12.  i’m going to be in the mosaic arts booth space, which is basically in front of the meyer theatre, so come and see me in all of my art overabundance~

so–the first depere art walk is coming up in a week, but because xo fitness is kinda awesome, my work is going to be there for the next week–like a pop-up show–starting tomorrow afternoon.

also, i finally sorted out my storenvy and etsy so that there are actual things in them, and my spoonflower has fabric, et al. in it now too.

as always, my redbubble exists.

it’s being extremely long and lacking in productivity–okay, not really, i’m mostly unpacked and reorganized now, and my redbubble’s been being updated.

but, minnesota wizard world was kinda disappointing, but then again, it was mother’s day weekend, free comics day, and there was another con going on in the city.

and, hopefully, in the next week, i’ll have things back up in my storenvy and etsy.  (unpacking and reorganization were kinda important to these eventualities.)
